Raise a dispute
How do I raise a dispute?
If you have a dispute relating to a PIMS-covered arrangement, you can submit a case using the PIMS complaint form. The complaint must be raised against an active PIMS member.
What should I check first?
Ensure the individual is a PIMS member, the dispute is covered, and you have attempted to resolve the issue directly unless not reasonably possible.
How do I check if someone is a PIMS member?
Each PIMS member has a unique membership number. You can verify membership using the PIMS Member Directory. https://www.thepims.co.uk/members/.
If they do not appear in the members directory, they may be an ex-member. In this case, you can reach out to our team to verify here: https://www.samuelleeds.com/need-help/
Dispute Process
How does the dispute process work?
PIMS prioritises mediation, with adjudication used where agreement cannot be reached.
How is mediation handled?
Mediation is conducted by email. Both parties share their position and supporting information. If agreement is reached, the case is closed.
When does adjudication happen?
If mediation fails or a party does not engage, the case may proceed to adjudication using the information already submitted.
